Types of Laser Hair Removal Systems

There is and ever growing number of laser manufactures to keep up with the demand and popularity of laser hair treatment. Here is a list of the most commonly used for laser hair removal.

Ruby Laser

Since the beginning of laser hair removal the Ruby Laser has been used for treatments.Even though it is one of the oldest forms of treatments it still works the best for light or fine hair. However the Ruby Laser is not effective on people with darker skin this includes patients that tan frequently. Also the Ruby only covers a small area of skin which has caused the popularity of this type f treatment to drop.

Alexandrite Laser

One of the fastest laser types is the Alexandrite Laser. It works well at treating large body areas for patients that have a light-to-olive complexion. The Alexandrite Laser is one of the most commonly used lasers for hair removal treatment.

Diode Laser

The most effective for darker skin types is the Diode Laser. However it is known to be less effective on lighter, finer hair. The Diode Laser can cover a large area and will have a fast repetition rate, that will allow a refreshing treatment of large body areas.

Intense Pulsed Light Devices

Intense Pulsed Light Devices are not actual lasers, however they are very similar because they use the same idea of selective photothermolysis to accomplish hair removal. These devices can be a little more difficult to use than lasers are and will need a very experienced and skilled technician to operate for best results.
